Patients:
The Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care provides comprehensive emergency medical care to both adults and pediatric patients suffering traumatic injuries. Our goal is to provide the best care to the people of our community through Injury Prevention programs and clinical research.
Critical care expertise is provided to the surgical patient through a highly trained and dedicated team of providers. Thois team includes Board Certified Critical Care surgeons, nurses trained in acute care and Operating Rooms that are staffed 24 hours a day.
University Surgical Associates has a team of dedicated trauma surgeons that are available in-house 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to oversee and coordinate all aspects of patient care. To make an appointment in the Trauma Clinic please call 401-444-5471.
For Providers:
If you are in need of coordinating a traumatically injured patient from you institution, please contact Rhode Island Express Care at 401-444-3000. Rhode Island Express Care is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to assist you in coordinating a timely transfer.
Educational Programs:
As a Level 1 Trauma Center, Rhode Island Hospital Offers ATLS several times a year. Please refer to the link below for current ATLS offerings at our institution. If you are in need of assistance please contact our Program Coordinator, Leslie Ortiz at 401-444-0369.

Our Trauma Program Manager, Ann George RN, is available to answer any questions you may have regarding the Trauma Program. Our trauma surgeons actively participate in educational outreach.
